OUR HISTORY
Northwest Community Church is an evangelical family of believers in
Jesus Christ. We desire to glorify God in Northwest Lancaster County by
fulfilling the Great Commission to make disciples and the Great Commandment
to love each other. We are committed to allowing God’s Word, the
Bible, to convict, restore and guide us in skillful, Christlike living
through the power of the Holy Spirit.
In January of 1985, four couples living northwest of Lincoln, Nebraska
initiated a Bible study group with the expressed purpose of eventually
establishing a church with a Bible teaching and fellowship emphasis.
The group grew in size, deciding in late 1987 to both call a pastor and
affiliate with the Berean Fundamental Church Fellowship. In December
of that year, Northwest Community Church was planted with the goal of
reaching northwest Lancaster County for Christ.
The church family initially met in Malcolm in the Westfall School building.
In 1989 land was purchased just outside Malcolm and construction was
begun on a building. The work was acccomplished mostrly with the volunteer
labor of the church family.. The building was finished, dedicated, and
utilized for service by July 1, 1990.
