Mission Trip
The NCC Youth Ministry does a Senior High missions trip every
other year. We’ve partnered with First Nations Ministries in San
Carlos, Arizona for a missions trip that involves a combination of work
projects and personal ministry. The trip is a seven day trip in March.
Students wishing to attend the trip must complete an application process
to qualify for the trip and must raise their own support. The next trip
is scheduled for March 2013.
Summer Camp
NCC junior high students attend summer bible camp at Maranatha
Bible Camp near Maxwell, Nebraska. Junior High Week is typically
in mid-to-late June.
Senior high students have the opportunity to attend the
Special Events
NCC students participate in a canned food drive for People’s City
Mission every year around Halloween. In addition to the food drive a special
Halloween night event for teens is sponsored at the Lancaster Event Center.
Our biggest event each year is
our Super Bowl Party. Nearly 100 students attend this event
each year with the game available on our 12-foot screen,
loads of free food, and over $1,000 in prizes given away.
Halftime features a special Gospel presentation.
We attend the Dare2Share Student conference each February at Pershing
Center in Lincoln. At this event students are equipped to share the Gospel
with their friends and family.
Service Projects
Throughout the school year our small groups will do a variety
of service projects. This might include a canned food drive, cleaning
up the home or yard of a family from church, serving at the People’s
City Mission, City Impact, or the Lincoln Crisis Pregnancy Center. The
groups will come up with the projects to find unique ways to serve.
Most summers a group of students will spend a few days doing service
projects at the People’s City Mission Distribution Center or at
Lincoln ’s City Impact.
Each summer Northwest Community Church holds a week-long Vacation Bible
School for elementary students. Our VBS provides our teens with a wonderful
opportunity to be involved in Christian service.
